The Escapist is the new novel by James Morris, former magazine editor, prolific journalist and part-time lecturer.

Set in a future world which satirically echoes the present day, The Escapist is part wry black comedy, part all-action sci-fi with a narrative pace that keeps you reading from cover to cover.

The book follows the travails of Bentley Dean, anti-hero and cybercriminal extraordinaire.

Bentley Dean has lost his job – if you can call high-tech bank robbery a form of employment.

So he goes straight as a police investigator, only to find himself embroiled in a far more dangerous scenario than he ever encountered in his life of crime. Dark forces seem to be anticipating his every move. Some are helpful, and some deadly, and soon Dean realises his life depends on following the clues back to their source.
